SWIMMER Justin Turnbull picked up four medals at the recent Brisbane Short Course Championships at Chandler.

The Redlands Swim Club member won gold in the 15-year 400m and 100m freestyle and silver in the 15-year 200m and 50m freestyle, all in personal best times.

Justin , who attends Faith Lutheran College, Redlands, also achieved personal bests in the 100m and 200m backstroke.

He has now qualified for the State Short Course Championships in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m freestyle and the 100m and 200m backstroke.

Short Course events are the same as other events except that they are swum in a 25m pool rather than a 50m pool.

Justin swims with nine other Faith students - Breeanna, Cody and Abbey Turnbull; Briana Pitman; Joel Chandler; Caitlin Adair; Tessa Sells; and Jonah and Oscar Pope - at the Redlands Swim Club.

"This is an outstanding achievement by Justin; a just reward for all of the hard work and long hours of training that Justin has put in," college principal Anthony Mueller said.
