AS the Bulldogs prepare for their important soccer battle away against table leaders Lions, the club's pundits are checking their records to see if the three-game whitewash at Redlands on Saturday is a first for either club.
Youth keeper Corey Devlin is celebrating his own personal milestone after recording a clean sheet in both the youth and reserve matches.
Capalaba pulled off 4-0 wins in both youth and reserve, with the firsts scoring 3-1 in what was to them a vital three-pointer.
The firsts now face the Lions at Richlands, and again are in a must-win situation.
They lost the first fixture 5-3 and must reverse this.
The top of the table is cramped, with six teams in with a chance of making the final four.
Capalaba stunned the Red Devils with an opening goal in the first minute of play on Saturday.
Danny Ngaluafe put a great ball through to Josh Sherwood who left his marker stranded before passing to Red Rock Noodle Bar Man of the Match Robbie Nemeth for a great finish.
Play settled down to a mid-field struggle as both sides tested each other, with Mark O'Neill stamping his authority on the game.
The Sherwood brothers were involved in the next goal, Jake putting a fine cross to Ngaluafe whose effort brought a top save, with Josh slotting away the rebound.
Gareth King, improving with each outing, was a tower of strength in defence, and Greg Thomas set up another attacking move with a defensive header only to see his effort wasted by an off-side call.
Capalaba moved the ball around extremely well, with Joel Stormon setting of a number of counter-attacks.
Nemeth figured in many raids.
The second half opened with another goal, Josh Sherwood hitting the post and Ngaluafe tucking away the rebound from a seemingly impossible angle.
The Red Devils clawed back one goal, but were lucky not to go further behind when substitute Nick Maas put in a fine effort only to see fellow sub Nic Broomham on the receiving end of a horrible bounce when he was well placed to put another away.
The Bulldogs made the mistake of relaxing, and Redlands produced some of their best football in the closing 10 minutes.
They were unlucky not to score.
The reserves were never troubled, youth players Nick Hamlyn and Kurt McKeown both scoring, backed up by goals from Reuben Thaiday and Ali Cikar. Red Rock Noodle Bar Man of the Match was Daley Kemel.
Winning 4-0 gave the youth squad a tighter grip on top place on the table, with Tyson Newell (penalty), Richard Sisson, Justin Quinn and McKeown all scoring.
They are away to Peninsula Power on Sunday and, provided they maintain their focus, should win again.
Sunday's matches at Luxury Paints Stadium kick off at 2pm and 4pm.
