Tidy Towns award for Council

14/08/2008 5:25:00 PM
REDLAND City Council has received the Environmental Protection Award for the South East Queensland region at the Ergon Energy Tidy Towns 2008 awards.

The entry was based on Council's environmental extension programs it provides to the community including Bushcare, Your Backyard Garden, Rural Support, and Land for Wildlife.

Council was also judged on its environmental management planning including that for open space, regional and district recreational parks, land acquisitions and street tree plantings.

Council is now in the running for the State award later in the year.
