REDLAND diver Sharleen Stratton (pictured in action at Beijing) has finished seventh in the 3m women's springboard final at the Beijing Olympics.

China again proved dominant in the event, with the host nation clinching the gold and bronze medals and Russia claiming silver on Sunday night.

Sharleen, 20, accumulated 331 points after five dives to rank seventh out of 12 competitiors in the final.

The former Capalaba resident last week placed fifth in the synchronised 3m springboard event with partner Bree Cole.

Thornlands resident Melissa Wu, who won silver with Bree in the 10m synchronised platform final last Tuesday, will compete in the 10m individual platform event heats on Wednesday. The semifinals and final will be held on Thursday.
